ABV 5.6%  |  IBU 25  |  SRM 13.2

If the hops and malt of this Amber Ale were on either end of a see-saw; it would sit at a standstill parallel with the ground. With a blend of German Tradition hops and American Willamette hops, there is just enough hop bitterness, flavor, and aroma to make keep your nose and taste buds wanting more. A combination of 5 different malts give this beer a hint of caramel sweetness, a splash of breadiness, and just the right amount of character to make this simple style wanting your taste buds to do The Waltz.

OCCASION:
As Carol King once eloquently put it “Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, all you have to do is pour yourself a City Lights Amber Ale.” That’s how I remember that song at least. A year-round pleaser best shared with a few friends.

FOOD PAIRING:
The world is your oyster with this beer; coincidentally with a touch of horseradish and cocktail sauce this Amber Ale is a great pair for oysters. Also goes well with a wide range (free range of course) of chicken dishes, smoked meats, and burgers. Let’s not forget bacon either.

Brown Ale

The Belgian beer glass is our choice of delivery for this Brown Ale. This is a delightfully malty beer with just enough hop bitterness to balance out the sweet and nutty characteristics of this style. The rounded base and tapering top of the Belgian glass are designed to capture the subtle intricacies and rich flavors of this style.

A beautiful floral aroma and silky mouthfeel from New World hops and delicate fruitiness of this Old World style set the tone for this delightful Brown Ale. The skillful blend of malt body and sweetness from caramel and crystal malts are offset by the expected hop bitterness from Nugget hops. A fresh, baguette aroma layered with chocolate notes delight the nose while sipping. Carbonated just enough for a smooth experience this is indeed a wise and eminently drinkable choice.

OCCASION:
While certainly enjoyable on a crisp fall day and during the cold winter months; this beer offers a nice break from the hop forward IPAs and Pale Ales for a great year-round beer.

FOOD PAIRING:
Paired with fine-cheese the creamy texture on the palate will marry to the malty presence with each sip of this fine brown ale. Nutty flavors of this beer will compliment nutty flavors of many hard cheeses. A great beer to pair with steak or a delicious roast beef sandwich with a touch of horseradish. And of course; bacon.

Session IPA

Even though the session IPA is lower in alcohol content; it is still full of hop flavor and aroma. That’s why we choose to enjoy this beer out of the Craft Master Tumbler to fully enhance the delightful aromas we worked so hard to get into this beer.

SESSION IPA

ABV 4.2%  |  IBU 44  |  SRM 5

In a sense, the Session IPA is the standard IPA’s little brother. Packed with just as much hop aroma and flavor; but slightly less body and alcohol content so you can enjoy a few more without falling off your barstool when you get up. With Centennial, Cascade, and El Dorado hops, ringing in at 50 IBUs with many late addition hops and a healthy dose of dry hops; this beer is sure to please the hop heads. With a touch of caramel and victory malt, there is just enough malt backbone to balance out the hops in this beer. At 4.5% ABV this beer is true to its name and is quite sessionable.

OCCASION: A summer beer drinkers’ delight, we’re reminded of post lawn mowing refreshments, tossing bags with friends and family at get-togethers, sitting around the bonfire at the campground, or setting up shop on the pier with a bobber and a worm while you’re waiting for the fish to bite.

FOOD PAIRING:
Great with summer salads, grilled chicken, turkey burgers, or a decadent carrot cake for dessert. And for the heck of it; maybe try it with some bacon.

Centennial. Cascade. Citra. Amarillo. This American-style IPA is defined by citrus-forward hoppiness with a delightful aroma. At just over 7% ABV, intermingling flavors permeate the senses and provide a lingering and caressing mouthfeel. At circa 75 IBUs; hop additions are artfully balanced with many late additions to offer a beautiful aroma and hop forward flavor that is just right. Hops are balanced with an elegant use of 6 different specialty malts to masterfully round out the beer.

OCCASION:
A sipping beer of extraordinary quality meant to be enjoyed with friends. A true all season beer; anytime and anywhere. Backyard BBQ, at the ball park, winding down after a long day's work, or for the best reason of all; just because you want one.

FOOD PAIRING:
Great with sharp and tangy cheeses (because Wisconsin) or dishes with a little bit of spiciness and heat to them. And of course, bacon.

Why do we use cans?

Why do we use cans?

CANS ARE BETTER

At City Lights Brewing Company it is our goal to deliver you a deliciously balanced, fresh, quality, and consistent beer. Whether you get a pint on draft at the brewery, or purchase a 6 pack 500 miles from the brewery; we want you to have the same experience. Cans are a big part of that equation. Packaged beer has 2 main enemies; light and oxygen. When packaged correctly cans eliminate those variables. Cans are also a fraction of the weight of glass making them more environmentally friendly to ship, and are also very easily recyclable. But what about the metallic flavor cans impart you ask? Today’s aluminum cans are lined with a water-based polymer to ensure the liquid gold inside tastes as good from the can as it does straight from the brite tanks at the brewery. So let’s raise a glass; or can rather, to cans!
