Greetings,

The magic is brewing at City Lights!

Jimmy the Brewmaster and his team have one batch each of Brown Ale, Session IPA, Amber Ale and IPA in the fermenters just waiting for you.  February 1st can’t come soon enough!

There is a frenetic energy enveloping the Power House and the Condenser House in preparation for our opening. Though beauty is in the eye of the beholder and each visitor to City Lights will likely find their own particular favorite amongst the many uniquely beautiful special touches, I am particularly awed by the wood selections in the Power House. Each of the windows was hand crafted to the exact specifications called for in Alexander Eschweiler’s 1902 architectural drawings.  And I would be surprised if you ever saw a more beautiful bar top than the pecky Cyprus wood that we found submerged in a Southern river and painstakingly refurbished. In the Condenser House, the juxtapositioning of the turn-of-the century infrastructure with the state-of-the-art canning line provides a stark contrast which I find beautiful.

Here are some photos from the ridiculously talented Kris Hinrichs to whet your whistle for our delicious brews and incredible ambiance:

There will be some really cool special events which we will host at City Lights. One of my favorites will be our artist markets. We will invite local artists to display their art and give our guests the opportunity to support the local creative community by purchasing their creations while enjoying our delicious brews. I am calling the series, “Arts and Craft.”

With the impending opening of City Lights and the pent up excitement, the demand for our tours continues to grow. Limited to groups of eight, our tours will feature an in depth overview of the brewing process with fact-filled and fun-filled anecdotes. You can book your tour in advance here:

We are extremely proud that City Lights beers will be incredible and equally proud that our bartenders and servers will become “Certified Beer Servers” as they study to earn this prestigious recognition as the First Level of Cicerone certification.

The fashion-forward amongst us have already got their City Lights wearables. It would be cool to see you in the tap room rocking some City Lights gear: http://citylightsbrewing.com/shop/

And finally, we’ve got an old twist for visitors to City Lights. On your first visit of each month, you will have the opportunity to write your name on an old-school time card and punch in on the timeclock when you arrive and punch out as you leave. Each month, our most-frequent visitors will be awarded with special perks as our special, old-fashioned way of saying “Thanks!”

Go Pack!

Cheers,

Robin
