Greetings,

Today we are celebrating National Beer Day by brewing our seventh delicious beer. Jimmy the Brewmaster and his team have concocted an incredible recipe for an IPA with Mosaic and Ekuanot hops that is certain to be a shining star in the City Lights galaxy of awesome brews.

We have celebrated momentous occasions at City Lights with blessings. First, Chief Redman joined us and performed a moving Native American “Smudging” Ceremony as we began our build-out process. My good friend, Father William Johnson SJ, blessed the City Lights Beers prior to our opening. Reverend Beth Patton from North Shore Presbyterian Church blessed our Irish Red Ale on its release on St. Patrick’s Day. On Monday of this week, our own Samuel Young, who is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Theology at Marquette University, blessed the Lemongrass Wheat Beer prior to its release. We’ve got something incredible planned for the blessing of the IPA. You won’t want to miss it…. stay tuned.

Things will be hopping at City Lights this weekend. The Cubs are in town to play the Brewers and we will have complimentary shuttles to and from the games Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Saturday afternoon we will have the Heavenly Cuisine food truck here and the weather is forecasted to be perfect! Hope to see you.

A special thanks to the Stage Hoggs and The Kelsey Miles Band for their incredible live performances at City Lights. We’ve rebooked both for additional shows and will be adding more live music to the special happenings here. I think that City Lights is a magical venue for live music. Do U2?

City Lights will be closed Easter Sunday because all the hops that day belong to the Easter Bunny.

Join us on Sunday, April 23 for our inaugural KP Patrol Adoption Extravaganza. Adoptable dogs will be here with their foster parents on harnesses and leashes (the dogs - not their foster parents will be leashed.) Come and meet your future forever four-legged friend! Approved applicants can take their dog straight home from the event. Here’s some more information on this great organization: http://www.k9pawtrol.com/dogs/

A special thanks to Alissa, Alex, Anthony, Bridget, Cassie, Chelsea, Danielle, Erika, Hannah, Ian, Jacqueline, Jake, Josh, Kristin, Kristine, Lauren, Maddie, Mark, Megan, Rocky, Sam and Sandra who work joyfully, enthusiastically, cheerfully and professionally to help ensure your City Lights experience is a magical one. You guys rock and I couldn’t be prouder to be on the team with you.

Have the best weekend ever!

Cheers,

Robin
