Greetings,

It is with incredible excitement that I share the Grand Opening festivities at City Lights this week.

But let’s start with a Milwaukee Magazine profile: https://www.milwaukeemag.com/interview-brewer-jimmy-gohsman-city-lights-brewing/ . Thanks to Dan Murphy for a great feature.

Throughout the weekend, in recognition and appreciation for their service and sacrifice, all active and retired members of the military will receive a 17.76% discount on all beverage, food and merchandise purchases. Thank you to our heroes!

Our Grand Opening Celebration kicks off Thursday with all beers $1.00 off from 5 to 7PM. The Stage Hoggs https://www.facebook.com/stage.hoggs   take center-stage with an acoustic set from 7-10PM. If you haven’t heard Evie and Chriz and their incredible array of songs spanning genres and their amazing harmony, you’ll want to be here. If you have heard Evie and Chriz before, you’ll want to be here too. After their encore, feel free to take your favorite City Lights beer home in a growler as all growler fills will be $1.00 off Thursday through Monday.

Ben the Chef will be rocking the grill all week long. And is there a better desert after enjoying a mouthwatering deluxe cheeseburger than with a hopsicle? We’ve partnered with Pete’s Pops http://petespops.net/ on this exciting variation of an ice cream novelty. I was in the kitchen with Pete and his team when they concocted these amazing formulas featuring our Coconut Porter Beer and our Lemongrass Wheat Ale. Trust me, our hopsicles are beer-licious!

Thursday at 7PM we will have a drawing for a complimentary 1/6th barrel party at City Lights. The lucky winner will have the opportunity to return to City Lights after June 1 with 20-30 of his/her friends, co-workers, family members and frenimies and enjoy a 1/6th barrel on the house.

Friday starts over with food service at noon. A brat, a beer and a hopsicle is a great way to do lunch. All beers are $1.00 off Friday from 5-7PM and a growler fills are $1.00 off too. Friday at 8PM Mas Soul https://www.facebook.com/massoulsound/ rocks the house with their eclectic blend of soul, rock, pop, jazz, reggae and Latin genres. You had me at Alto Sax! And we’ll be drawing for another 1/6th barrel party Friday at 7PM.

Join us Saturday for lunch or an afternoon appetizer featuring our amazing nachos with made-fresh every day City Lights Beer cheese sauce. All beers will be $1.00 off Saturday from 5 to 7PM. At 7PM we will draw the name of another lucky winner to host a 1/6th barrel party.

Saturday night the excitement ratchets up another notch or three when Sugar Still http://sugarstill.com/ takes the stage at 8PM. Sugar Still is touring nationally and has released three albums. Sugar Still is a songwriting/performing duo made up of conservatory-trained violinist/vocalist Sarah Blick and roots blues guitarist/vocalist Charlie Cheney who met in 2015 and discovered a shared love of Americana, roots blues, Bluegrass, gypsy jazz, funk and bombastic rock. The night will be epic!

I am grateful and humbled that so many of our guests have expressed their appreciation for the “City Lights Experience.” Sharing a delicious beer with friends and loved ones is a blessing. Having the honor of serving them is a privilege. And this experience is exponentially more way-cool on a warm day with the sun gently kissing the skin and the rambling waters of the river soothing the soul. The City Lights beer garden is truly idyllic and Sunday will be a great day to experience this magic.

All gave some. Some gave all. On Monday, we remember the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives to protect our freedom. We will have a special Memorial Day ceremony Monday at noon. Active and retired members of the military will receive a complimentary beer from 11AM-12PM. Thank you for your service. God Bless America.

Our Brewer shuttles will run to and from Miller Park for all games this week. Stop in before the game for your favorite City Lights Beer and enjoy tasty treats from our tailgate menu. And after the game, show your server your Brewers’ ticket stub and receive $1.00 off your first beer if the Brewers lost and $2.00 off your first beer if the Brewers won.

Our good friend Kris Hinrichs is special in so many ways. Kris facilitated our introduction to Pastor Dexter Trice and his Voices of Faith choir. Pastor Trice and the group brought the house down at last Saturday’s Blessing of the Beer. It was beyond special: https://kristinehinrichs.smugmug.com/Welcome-to-City-Lights-Brewing-C/n-Gx8ccP/

I thank you for the privilege of your time. I hope to have the privilege of serving you soon.

Cheers,

Robin
