Greetings,

Jimmy the Brewmaster and the brewing team are so grateful for the congratulations and shout-outs for winning an international Platinum Medal for his Hazy IPA. City Lights Hazy IPA earned 96 points, a “Superlative” designation and was rated by tastings.com as the #1 IPA in the world: http://www.tastings.com/Beer-Review/City-Lights-Brewing-Co-Hazy-IPA-USA-05-02-2019.aspx.

The weather last Saturday was beautiful and the patio was filled with happy guests thoroughly enjoying the atmosphere, the scenery, the beer and the delicious eats. As I was greeting tables, I overheard this conversation between a couple, each savoring a Hazy IPA. Man, “I love you more than anything in the world and couldn’t think of life without you.” Woman, “Is that the beer talking or you?” Man, “It was me talking…to the beer!”

What a weekend ahead at City Lights. Join us tonight for Happy Hour and special Draft Night Drafts. With the wide variety of delicious beers, you can’t go wrong selecting any of our drafts! For a surprise pick, try our Brut Wheat Rosé! I am pleasantly amazed by awestruck guests who can’t believe this tasty treat is actually a beer. This game-changer is bone-dry and beautifully effervescent with notes of beery and lime. Might be the best pick since Aaron Rodgers.

Friday’s excitement begins when we open at 11. A City Lights fish fry is a great way to begin your pre-concert festivities. If you are an uptown girl, our convenient shuttle will take you to the concert just the way you are. You may be right, if you are a piano man, the City Lights complimentary shuttle is a perfect way for you and John your friend at the bar to arrive in style and not have to walk this way.

Saturday, come join us for “Bublr and a Beer!” https://www.thevalleymke.org/events/2019/4/20/bublr-amp-a-beer-in-the-valley Jump on a Bublr with us for a casual spring ride on the Hank Aaron State Trail between two popular destinations (and Bublr stations!) in the Menomonee River Valley - City Lights Brewing and Miller Park. Along the way, we'll stop to talk about some of the sights, the area's fascinating history, and innovative landscaping that protects our natural resources. We'll ride a casual four miles roundtrip between the Valley's two Bublr stations and share a cheers with a complimentary beer at City Lights at the tour's culmination. Let's shake off winter and get outdoors!

Saturday evening, City Lights favorite Paddygrass https://www.paddygrass.com/ takes to the stage at 7PM. Come and see why. Derek Byrne and his mates will move you to sing, dance, drink and forget all else. Better still, Derek wears a kilt! (I choose to think Billy Joel is the opening act for Paddygrass – that's how good they are!)

We strive for excellence in all aspects of our operation: brewing, packaging, logistics, food service, hospitality and community. Here are the core values that guide us:

1. Share the magic that is City Lights and deliver exceptional experiences that result in “WOW!”

2. Respect the dignity of all and create a workplace culture that is empowering.

3. Nurture passion.

4. Embrace quirkiness and fun.

5. Build a positive team and family spirit with open and honest relationships and communication.

6. Champion the beauty and strength in the individuality and diversity of each of our team members and guests.

7. Always remember that the beer business is a fun business and it is a privilege to work in this industry.

Sunday, Fear the Deer and Cheer the Beer! We’ll open early for the noon start as the Bucks continue their journey to a World’s Championship. From one World Champion to a soon-to-be one….

Cheers!

Robin
