Greetings,
Every time one of my politically active friends makes a passionate post on Facebook about their preferred presidential candidate, I change my mind and jump into their camp. Or maybe not….
Though I have not met Kate Bernot, intuitively I know that she is incredibly smart, wonderful and over-the-top special in so many ways! Here’s what @KBernot tweeted after last week’s e-mail was disseminated, “Today’s gold star for excellence for brewery newsletters goes to @CityLightsBeer, a consistently funny and educational read.” Big love from @CityLightsBeer to @KBernot!
If a picture is worth a thousand words, here are ten thousand or so words from Kris Hinrichs beautifully strung together with the photographical equivalent of the wordsmanship of Shakespeare: https://www.flickr.com/photos/krisrunner/albums/72157674011770825

And speaking of Shakespeare, here are a couple of things Will (It’s Hard to be the Bard, Baby) had to say about beer:
"For a quart of ale is a dish for a king"
– ‘A Winter’s Tale’
"I would give all my fame for a pot of ale and safety."
- ‘King Henry V’
As you can see from the photos, our rough carpenter who hails from Finland has been quite busy. Being a rough, finish carpenter at City Lights has its advantages. We’re planning a special, pre-opening night dedicated solely to the incredible men and women who passionately used their craft artistry and construction skills to make City Lights the spectacular space that it will be. Kippis!
City Lights Brewing Company, along with 9 other emerging Wisconsin food and beverage companies, recently completed an intensive, one year accelerator program sponsored by the Food and Beverage Coalition of Wisconsin (Fab Wisconsin: http://www.fabwisconsin.com/ ) A special thanks to Shelly Jurewicz and Brad Rostowfske who share the dual distinction of being singularly committed to driving the growth of Wisconsin-based food and beverage companies and being great mentors (each with names that are difficult to pronounce.) Thanks Shelly and Brad!
We’re immersed in the planning stages for both the (December – hopefully) opening of the City Lights Tasting Room and for our 2017 retail and on-premise launch. The tasting room experience will be second-to-none with an ambiance and a je ne sais quoi vibe that will be both relaxing and exciting at the same time.
We’re working with our distributor partner, Johnson Brothers of Wisconsin, http://johnsonbrothersofwi.com/ to ensure that your preferred City Lights brews will be available at your favorite retail store, tavern and restaurant. Locally, Scott Barrett, Gary DeGeorge and David Kenyon have assembled an amazing team of sales, distribution and logistics professionals and we’re extremely proud to have the privilege to be affiliated with such an awesome organization.
Have the best Packer-Bye-Week Ever When the Badgers also upset Michigan!
Cheers,
Robin
