Greetings,

On Wisconsin! Come to City Lights Friday night and watch the Badgers advance to the Elite Eight! And what a promotion we have for you! Starting at Tip-off, our Badger (Irish) Red Ale will be FREE until the Badgers score their first 3 point basket. Las Vegas odds makers are scratching their heads on how this is even possible.

And better yet, Matty’s Food Truck will be onsite serving up all your favorites. So, if you want to be a Badger, just come along with me!

I was eating at a restaurant when there was a “dine and dash” and the party sped away in a red Honda Accord. The police were called and the responding officer asked me if I saw the plate. “Of course, I answered, “He had the fish and chips.”

Jimmy the Brewmaster and his team brewed another fantastic new ale – Lemongrass American Wheat Ale. I was wandering aimlessly around the brewery and the aromas were tantalizing. Jimmy describes the beer as a new interpretation of an historic style known as “scurvy ale.” (Hundreds of year ago, branding wasn’t so important in the beer game – hence the name scurvy ale.) Jimmy the Brewmaster’s recipe called for 15 pounds of lemongrass, which gives the beer a delightful lemon-piney aroma. A generous addition of late edition hops including Citra, Cascade and Hallertau Blanc gives the beer a balanced, but flavor-forward citrus taste and aroma.

City Lights Brewing Company will open the first keg of the Lemongrass American Wheat Ale on April 3. Coincidentally that day is also Opening Day for the Brewers. And if you think our Badger promotion is cool, wait till you see what we have planned for Opening Day!

Also, Opening Day marks the first of our 81 days of shuttling fans to Miller Park. Why pay $25.00 to park when you can get complimentary “to and from shuttle service” from City Lights with a purchase of one of our delicious beers? “Take me out to the Ball Park” just got way less expensive and way more tasty.

If you are unscheduled Friday, please feel free to swing by City Lights and wish Jimmy the Brewmaster a “Happy Birthday.” Jimmy will be celebrating his special day by doing what he loves most – brewing delicious beers for your enjoyment.

David Kenyon and his team at Johnson Brothers have been doing a fantastic job delivering City Lights’ beers to retail locations throughout the metro-Milwaukee area. You can now find these enchanting brews at fantastic outlets including Discount Liquors, Otto’s, Ray's Wine and Spirits, Pick ‘n Save and Sendiks. The City Lights’ serving team will be at all Sendiks this weekend serving up samples of our specially priced, delicious brews. And Andy the VP will be pouring samples at The Metro Market in "the Wood" (Shorewood) tonight.

Next Wednesday evening (March 29th) City Lights will host a Milwaukee Craft Brewing League “Tap Takeover.” Plan on stopping by and enjoy a brew or two from some incredibly talented and passionate fellow brewers. Chef Cooper will be grilling his mouth-watering specialties to pair with these incredible beers.

Steve Jobs used to wear the same outfit every day. Still does.

A special “thank you” to Reverend Beth Patton of North Shore Presbyterian Church for presiding at last week’s “Blessing of the Beer” Ceremony. Could our Irish Red Ale now be described as actually “heavenly?”

We are donating $1 from the sale of each Irish Red Ale to the Boys and Girls Club to help support the wonderful things they do for the youth of our community. Cheers!

Have the best “Badgers advance to the Elite Eight” weekend ever!

Robin
