Greetings,
The magic continues to shine at City Lights Brewing Company.
Last week’s celebrations for Cinco de Mayo and Derby Day were overwhelming successes. The Beer-garita was our top selling item on Friday and the Beer-mint julep enjoyed the same designation on Saturday. Congrats to Jimmy the Brewmaster and Alissa the Bartender for collaborating on these delicious beer-tails.
Sunday is Mother’s Day and we will be serving up complimentary “Momosas” all day long to each and every mother who visits City Lights. (Proof of delivery is not required.)
Sunday also marks our traditional “blessing of the beer” to commemorate the release of our Coconut Porter. Please join us at noon when Rabbi Levi Brook continues this special City Lights' tradition.
Our next beer to be released will be our Double IPA. Here’s how our Chief Innovation Officer Dr. David Ryder describes Jimmy the Brewmaster’s next masterpiece: “This powerful version of a Double IPA at 8.5% ABV relies less on malt character and more on a sprinkling of piney flavor and aroma with hints of citrus courtesy of the Chinook, Simcoe and Amarillo hops used in this unique recipe. Brewed to sweep the palate as it subsequently caresses the throat, this goldenrod-amber high profile beer stays sharply focused throughout the drinking experience. The beer’s strong flavor balance coats and invigorates the mouth to linger longer with textural interest. This, in turn, propels a determined mouthfeel that leaves plenty of interest on the upper palate. In the end, the tension between the strong-willed hops and any other restraints makes this IPA a joy for beer lovers to savor. Here’s to the heart that fills as the glass empties!”
The Brewers are in town with afternoon games on Thursday and Sunday. We will open at 10AM on both Thursday and Sunday and we will have complimentary shuttles to all games this week.
Tonight will be the (figurative) inaugural voyage of “City Lights Bites” – our snazzy, converted RV outfitted with a complete commercial kitchen. Until our regular menu debuts in June, we will be serving up a limited edition “Mini-tailgate menu” consisting of burgers, brats, hot dogs and pretzel balls.
Friday will be rocking at City Lights. In addition to our new food service options and the Brewers game, The Kelsey Miles Band takes the stage at 7PM. Kelsey’s energy is palpable (Mick Jagger is jealous) and her eclectic selection of music is incredible.
Our beer garden continues to evolve. The fence is completed, the hanging baskets are up (until we take them in at night) and the flowers will be planted this week. (Rumor has it that the temperatures may actually be warm enough this weekend to allow you to enjoy this idyllic setting.)
I hope to have the privilege of seeing you this week.
Best regards,
Robin
