Greetings,
We have an incredible Father’s Day weekend planned for City Lights, highlighted by a special brunch menu and a free beer for Dad on Sunday!
The fun starts Friday night when the father/son duo of Evan and Tom Leahy http://evanandtom.com/ take to the outdoor patio and entertain you with their melodic blend of acoustic classics. Evan and Tom will be playing from 7-10PM.
Saturday gets even better when Dexter Trice and his band are joined by Dexter’s daughter Tamyra and the incredible Voices of Faith choir. The Voices of Faith will pay tribute to the “First Father” with an amazing array of music that will rock your spirit and soothe your soul. Dexter and the Voices of Faith have quickly become a City Lights favorite with an energetic set featuring the best drummer you will ever see and hear. Hallelujah!
On Sunday, where else would Dads want to be than at City Lights? A complimentary beer will be served up to all dads. Brunch service begins at 10AM. Here’s a sneak peek at Ben the Chef’s Father’s Day brunch menu:
City Lights Benedict - 2 poached eggs on a warm bed of sliced ham and an open face English muffin topped with City Lights Signature Beer Cheese Sauce. Served with hash browns or fresh fruit.
Denver Omelet - Diced ham, red, green and yellow peppers, onions and Swiss cheese. Served with your choice of fresh fruit or hash browns and white, wheat or English muffin toast.
Dad’s Choice - 3 eggs prepared your way. 3 slices of bacon or 2 sausage links, hash browns or fresh fruit with white wheat or English muffin toast.
Mom’s French Toast - 2 slices of egg battered Texas toast topped with powdered sugar and warm Wisconsin maple syrup. Choice of 3 strips of bacon or 2 sausage links. Served with your choice of hash browns or fresh fruit.
Father Knows Best - 1/3-pound hand-smashed Angus patty topped with Wisconsin Cheddar cheese, a grilled sliced brat, City Lights Signature Beer Cheese sauce, a fried egg and City Lights Session IPA caramelized onions served on a warm Miller Bakery Pretzel bun. Choice of hash browns or fresh fruit.
And Father’s Day on the patio will feature Smith and Binder Jazz from 11AM-2PM for Dad’s listening enjoyment.
Alissa the Bartender has concocted a special array of beer-tails for Dad to enjoy on Sunday including a delicious variation on the classic “Bloody Mary” that we’re calling “Bloody Daddy.”
After brunch and a delicious beer-infused Hopsicle for dessert, all Dads can take home a little City Lights magic with $2.00 off all growler fills on Sunday.
Jimmy the Brewmaster is extremely excited about his new pilot system. I was too until I realized that it didn’t have anything to do with Captain Sully Sullenberger safely lading a plane on the Menomonee River – what great theater for the beer garden that would be! Jimmy and the brewing team will be crafting “designer batches” of special brews that will be sold on “Firkin Fridays” beginning in July. Can’t wait.
Jimmy the Brewmaster and our Chief Innovation Officer Dr. David Ryder are collaborating on an Orange Wheat beer today. The brew house is enveloped with a delightful citrus aroma. The Orange Wheat recipe calls for 20 pounds of orange peels. The wheat malt is an historic malt from Germany and the recipe is a citrus twist on a centuries old London Ale formula; updated to include Denali, Amarillo and Mandarina Bavaria hops. Other-worldly!
A heartfelt welcome to all US Open fans. And we’re celebrating the Open with our own “Fowler Growler” promotion. Simply e-mail me prior to Thursday’s first tee-time your guess at the Open winner. If you are correct, you will win a City Lights growler and a free fill. (I got Rickie winning by 1 at 9 under par – and that’s my “Fowler Growler” pick.)
We are starting to ramp up our distribution throughout the state and are overwhelmingly proud to be associated with the greatest group of distributors ever assembled. The men and women of Beer Capital Distributing, Frank Beer Distributors, Lee Beverage of Wisconsin, Kay Beer Distributing, C.J.W. Inc., Ott Schweitzer Distributing, Inc., and La Crosse Beverage work tirelessly, professionally and passionately to make sure your preferred beer is available at your favorite store, bar, restaurant or special event. City Lights is honored to be affiliated with the best of the best and we look forward to extending the magic of our tap-room experience across the great State of Wisconsin.
Here’s to the best Father’s Day weekend ever! (Who’s your daddy?)
Cheers,
Robin
