Greetings,

$1 if by land. $2 if by sea. There are a myriad of ways our guests arrive at City Lights (Uber, automobile, motor coach, etc.) We recently opened our river-side dock that allows our water traveling friends an easy, convenient and safe way to enter the magic that is City Lights. To celebrate, now through Sunday, all guests arriving via bicycle (Bublr, road, mountain, BMX, hybrid, recumbent, tandem, etc.) will receive $1 off their first pint. Guests arriving by boat (Pontoon, speed, row, yacht, fishing, kayak, canoe, etc.) will receive $2 off their first pint. Is the heliport next?

Reports earlier this week suggest that Molson Coors is investigating selling a cannabis-infused beer in Canada, where recreational marijuana will be officially legal later this year. Though the marketing strategies targeted to users of plant-based psychoactive drugs are limitless, I doubt Molson Coors will utilize the tagline, “This bud’s for you.”

Guests at City Lights frequently highlight the many little touches that combine to produce a “wow” taproom experience. Incredible Beers. Friendly, knowledgeable and passionate team members. Idyllic setting. Awesome eats. Many cite the fresh flowers that are beautifully arranged each week and prominently displayed throughout the taproom in City Lights growlers.  I have coined a new term for freshly cut flowers vased in growlers, “Flowlers.” Stop in soon, enjoy the ambiance and check out our beautiful flowlers.

Jimmy the Brewmaster’s delicious array of beers is creating a conundrum for guests. Belgian Wit? Hazy IPA? Mexican Lager? Coconut Porter? IPA? Irish Red Ala? Amber Ale? Mosaic Pale Ale? (My favorite.) Vienna Lager? Unlike Hobson’s, our guest choices are many and all amazing!

Tonight, cool down with the chill sound of Anthony Deutsch: http://anthonydeutschmusic.com as he performs in the beer garden from 6-9PM. Saturday, it is a City Lights crowd favorite Swing & A Miss https://swingandamiss1.com/ performing from 7-10PM. Get your dancing shoes ready!

Sure Italian food is expensive, but I think it is worth every penne.

This week and next will be extremely busy for our much-appreciated distributor network and the professional men and women who sell, deliver and merchandise City Lights beer and other brands in their respective portfolios. From Chicago’s Gold Coast, throughout Wisconsin and into Minnesota from the Twin Cities to Duluth, City Lights beers are available at an ever-increasing number of both on and off-premise accounts.  A sincere thank you to all. We are honored for the privilege of our partnerships.

If you are planning a Minnesota vacation, check out Appeldoorn’s Sunset Bay Resort https://appeldoorns.com/ on Mille Lacs, where the fish are always biting, the staff is always smiling and City Lights is always pouring.

Jimmi-Jean and the QTS team will be onsite next Tuesday to complete the installation of our new fermenting tanks which will double our current capacity. Jimmy, Ryan and Mark were somewhat flummoxed this week as all the tanks were full and not ready to be packaged and kegged. They can’t wait to craft their passion with more delicious brews to amaze you.

Have the best and most festive weekend ever!
Robin
