Greetings,
What would an update be without announcing that Jimmy the Brewmaster has won another medal in an International brewing competition? Jimmy’s Brut Wheat Rose was awarded a silver medal: http://tastings.com/Beer-Review/City-Lights-Brewing-Co-Brut-Wheat-Rose-Ale-USA-08-19-2019.aspx . For those keeping score at home, Jimmy has won Two Gold Medals, One Platinum Medal and One Silver Medal.
Jimmy’s Cucumber Melon Brut will be released in the taproom today. Jimmy succinctly describes it as “Liquid Honey Dew.” This promises to be a shining star in the City Lights galaxy of awesome beers.
Chef Cate sent me to the store to get a gallon of milk and added, “If the avocados are ripe, please bring me six.” I returned with six gallons of milk. She was perplexed and I said, “The avocados were ripe.”
Our own Quinn Pokora takes to the City Lights stage tonight at 7PM. Quinn learned guitar from the same teacher who made Trey Anastasio the legend that he is. You’ll enjoy Quinn immensely. And to celebrate Quinn and Trey, why not come early and enjoy a Phish Fry?
Tomorrow might be the coolest day of the year at City Lights. We are hosting the City Lights Sprints. Join us as athletes from the Milwaukee Rowing Club and The Camp Randall Rowing Club race their shells down the Menomonee River. It is an incredible site and with hundreds of athletes, families and spectators on the campus, the energy will be electric. We will open at 7AM. We will be serving a delicious breakfast and our own Nikki will be showcasing her mad barista skills and serving up hot and cold caffeinated beverages that will float your boat. First race begins at 9AM.
The City Lights beer garden is the place to see and been seen this summer. Is there a better way to celebrate life than to share a great beer with friends and loved ones in an idyllic setting with a gently rambling river providing a special ambiance and soft kisses from the sun providing warmth? And the experience is even better with great live music. Patrick Van Bibbler takes to the stage Saturday at 7PM.

2. Respect the dignity of all and create a workplace culture that is empowering.
3. Nurture passion.
4. Embrace quirkiness and fun.
5. Build a positive team and family spirit with open and honest relationships and communication.
6. Champion the beauty and strength in the individuality and diversity of each of our team members and guests.
7. Always remember that the beer business is a fun business and it is a privilege to work in this industry.
A special thanks to the men and women who tirelessly work to sell, deliver and merchandise City Lights beers and make sure your favorite beverage is available at your preferred bar, restaurant or retail store. Cheers to the best distributors ever!
Stay cool my friends,
Robin
