Greetings,

This week, City Lights just may be the epi-center of everything that’s cool, hip, happening and exciting.

Congratulations to our 2108 NCAA Basketball prognosticator, Jason Roos, for winning this year’s bracket challenge. Jason wins “Free Beer for A Year” -  52 consecutive weeks of a free growler fill. Cheers, Jason.

In the beer tournament, City Lights Mexican Lager became the ultimate bracket buster. City Lights Mexican Lager came out of nowhere to win the title. Crisp, refreshing with a delightful hint of lime, Mexican Lager is quickly becoming one of our fastest selling beers and now only needs its own “Sister Jean” to cement its place in tournament lore.

After they were engaged, Jay-Z called his girlfriend “Feyoncé.”

Be sure to e-mail me your picks in this year’s “Master of the Masters” tournament. The tournament is as simplistic as our beers are delicious. Pick three golfers. The top three finishers will be awarded 10, 7 and 5 points respectively. The entrant whose selected golfers earns the most total points wins a $250 City Lights gift card.

Tonight, Thursday, Friday, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon our home town baseball team hosts our beloved rivals, the Chicago Cubs. The City Lights shuttle is the styling, convenient and quick way to take you out to the old ball game.

Chicago is a great city. We are overwhelmingly proud to be launching in the Greater Chicagoland area. We are honored to partner with one of the nation’s most prominent distributors, Chicago Beverage Systems, and to have the privilege of sharing the City Lights magic with our friends in the Windy City.

Accordian to a recent survey, replacing words with the names of musical instruments in a sentence often goes undetected.

This Saturday evening, Myles Wangerin https://myleswangerin.com/  takes to the City Lights stage. Myles is a City Lights fan favorite and is guaranteed to put a little boot scoot in your boogie.

East Side Pilates brings its awesomely fun “Pilates in Public” to City Lights this Saturday at noon for a free, fun hour of Pilates, Yoga and Zumba. Check it out: https://www.facebook.com/events/2003722333225421/

And finally, Saturday is National Beer Day. National Beer Day is celebrated in the United States every year on April 7th, marking the day in 1933 the Cullen-Harrison Act was enacted allowing people to buy, sell and drink beer. Upon signing the legislation, then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt remarked, “I think this would be a good time for a beer.” Roosevelt is also famous for saying, “Do Something. If it works, do more of it…. Clearly, Jimmy the Brewmaster and his team have taken his words to heart as they are brewing around the clock to make sure you can enjoy your favorite City Lights beer where and when you choose to.

Thanks for the privilege of your time and have the best Master’s weekend ever!
